After longing to visit Iceland for several years, I finally made it happen in March of 2018. Here were my favorite things to see and do from my week in Reykjavik and the surrounding area.
I was thrilled when a recent conference took me to Denver, though I knew that with a busy schedule I’d have to do my best to fit a lot into a short amount of time. Here’s my guide to the mile high city if you only have 2-3 days.
On a recent solo trip to Ireland, I flew into Dublin and made that my home base as I explored the country. Though I took a number of day trips, a week could easily be spent in Dublin itself. Bob’s might be my favorite place to eat in Oregon, my home state. This is a big compliment given the gazillion vegan or vegan-friendly restaurants and food carts in Portland. For the uninitiated, Bob’s Red Mill is a brand of flours and other baking supplies that has a home base of Milwaukie. Just like on the packaging (and in the name of course), Bob’s is an adorable red mill that houses a restaurant and bakery, as well as a store for all your baking needs. Also, Bob is a real guy, and if your timing is right, you may see him eating his morning grits in the dining area or playing a tune on the piano.

I don’t know if that’s actually true, but I’ll keep telling myself that. Here are a handful of recommendations for anyone visiting this fun-loving and sometimes “weird” city.
